Emily Desmond is known for her witty and brutally honest lyrics, her soulful voice, and her ever-changing hair. She has been performing at festivals, clubs, competitions, and fundraising events in New England since the age of 13. She has opened for national acts such as Rob Thomas, Third Eye Blind, Andy Grammer, and Rachel Platten, and was featured by Mix 104.1 at the Hatch Shell in Boston in 2015.
Emily spent 4 years in Berklee College of Music‘s rigorous songwriting program where she also completed many courses in vocal technique, music theory, music history, arranging, and more. She has been nominated for Best Female Artist by the International Acoustic Music Awards and received the Honorable Mention Award for Best Folk Song from the USA Songwriting Competition. In addition, Emily has been teaching voice and guitar privately for over 7 years. She continues to write and perform music, while also running a music YouTube channel called Music Theories.
Emily performs covers frequently with her husband, Aaron Wheeler as a duo called The Rule of Two. They provided specialized packages for weddings and other private events, and perform in bars and restaurants in between.
